Passenger Vehicle Hybrid Case Study
Background
An automotive supplier was producing an innovative instrument cluster for a new hybrid vehicle. They were faced with a challenge in developing the software for the instrument cluster. The cluster design utilized a graphically intense scheme to communicate a wide variety of information and the desired user experience included sliding animations, fading transitions and various other forms of interactive graphics. A higher level graphic complexity of a display requires more powerful, more expensive hardware to render the graphics. Therefore the user experience requirements were conflicting with the constraint of low cost hardware. The answer was to develop very efficient rendering software so that the user experience could be achieved at the lowest hardware cost.Success
SpinDance developed a custom rendering framework that maximized the performance of the target hardware platform. The implementation of the graphic interface was carefully crafted to leverage the framework and deliver high performance user experience. The result was a beautiful instrument cluster that is currently being used in many hybrid vehicles.Services
